This blog is about my art journey, I started painting last year when I was made redundant.  I had always wanted to learn to paint but never had the time, well now I have!  I decided to share the journey with whoever wants to have a look.  I know I make many mistakes but that's all part of the learning process.  I use mainly watercolours but have tried pen and ink, pastels, coloured pencils and Brusho.  I enjoy experimenting with various methods and have combined some of them.  I tend to paint for the bin, meaning if the result is horrid I can just chuck it away (though I rarely do as there are lessons in mistakes too).

I have a facebook page where I also post some of my work, I have lots of FB artist friends and we share our lives and art and learn from each other.

If you would like to comment please do but remember I am at the beginning of my journey and still have a lot to learn.

Landscape

A landscape inspired by old holiday photograph.  Watercolour on DR Langton NOT paper, 305mm x 229mm.

Old Barn Door

Just for something different this one is in pen and ink using a Elegant Writer pens 2.5mm and 2.00mm.

For a first attempt I'm quite pleased with this and it's something I will certainly try again as I've been so inspired by Louise Fletcher.  If you like this sort of work check her out on her Facebook Page - Louise Fletcher Art.

Florals

Roses and Sweet Peas, both done on SAA paper using SAA watercolour.

A rosebud

One of the roses in my garden.  This was done on SAA practice paper using SAA watercolours.
